My packing list Camino spring and autumn
Weight is where it's all about. So consider carefully what to take with you and if you doubt, let me know.
Raincape (fitting over your pack), preferably with zipper
Long trousers linen or artificial
Walking shirts 2
Walking shoes (light ones are okay, class AB suitable for C. Frances)
Walking socks 2 pairs
Socks 1 pair
Thin sleeping bag (there are extra blankets everywhere)
Sheet sleeping bag (silk is light and protects against bedbugs)
Very good ear plugs
Plastic bag for shower
Tick removing stuff
Headlamp (or in phone)
A bidon or two plastic waterbottles half a liter each (it is hardly necessary to carry more, you can buy extra for really hot weather)
Small piece of soap
I strongly recommend Gehwohl footcreme (from Germany, start ten days ahead, hardly available in Spain, 1 tube= about a month)
If you want:
Travel plug, depending on your home country
Cable/sdcard reader for cellphone or camera
Prepaid simcard for Spain (or buy it in Spain)
A lot of extra weight is in a heavy sleeping bag and/or to many/ heavy clothes. Or taking to much food and water with you. You don't need the heaviest walking shoes, there's a lot of easy terrain on the Camino Frances. And, best thing for the most important part, your feet: I used Gehwol footcreme. You can hardly buy it in Spain, you need one tube for a month. The best, prevents a lot.
NB Check the regulations for flying with only handluggage.
